Default Jobs/Unemployment

Is the jobs picture as great as we are led to believe.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- So far nearly 20,000 people have applied for the 877 new jobs that Hyundai is filling for a third shift at its Alabama assembly plant, and applications are still coming.

"It just continues to grow," said Scott Gordy of Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama's human resources department.

The deadline to apply is Saturday, but Hyundai was so overwhelmed by the initial response that it suspended the application process on May 18 because of the high volume.

You mean you don't believe the B.S. you are being told?? Its a recovery. Thats why 24 banks have gone under so far this year, GMAC mortgage has filed Chapter 11, unemployment has gone up, housing values continue down, foreclosures are up, entire malls are empty, businesses are still folding, along with vacant store fronts for lease... these are all indicators of a "recovery".... NOT!!!!

I heard on Rush this AM that the numbers for March and April have been adjusted.

Instead of 740,000 new time filers, we now hear that that number is closer to 790,000.

The rate went up to 8.2..announced this morning. The jobs created in May were somewhere at the 46,000 mark.

The 'actual' rate was raised to 15.8.

It came on the tube, and blamed Bush yet once again. He has to have 4 more to get thing where they belong. Yeah, they'll be where they belong, for sure.

Should it happen, the very cattle he's got stuck up his can, will be the first to go as soon as the older generation ( those of memories of how it used to be ) die off.

Kids in school today will never have a clue of how things were, once upon a time in a galaxy far, far away.

Given the average, new time filers were at 370,000 per week.

So we added 46,000 jobs, and lost close to 1.5 million.

Must be something about that new math that I don't understand.

Something I don't understand, and never have is...take your weekly average of 370, 000, times 4.33, the number of weeks in a month and you come up with the figure of 1,602,100, for one month.

Take that average and apply it to just the last six months, and you roughly have 9,500,000 folks who have lost their jobs just since December of last year.

Take that 9mil and quadruple it ( 2 years ), and the amount of folks in the US that are now sitting at home waiting for the sky to fall, and you have more folks out of work, who are facing the fact that they can no longer pay for their homes, cars, credit cards, etc..and knowing for them, the end is near.

And to add to that misery, the first of next year, the Bush tax cuts end, and we are all facing the largest single personal tax increase in the history of this country.

The promised Change, make that bHo's Fundamental Change To America, has come to pass.
