Virginian .45 Colt with Hornady Critical Defense. I open carry everyday since I moved to Oregon. Loving it, just hate it when I have to wear a jacket as it's harder to try to keep the gun outside to coat.

Welcome to the forum Emily! .45's, and 9's, good choices! How do you carry? Most women have a problem with the larger guns, and concealment. Maybe you can help some other ladies out.

Still waiting on my CHL but I will be carrying regularly. Kahr CW45. I know some folks have had bad experiences with these but this has been a winner for me. I have a Crossbreed IWB holster and keep 230gr Winchester PDX1 in the mag.

Kahr PM40 w/180gr Golden Sabres. The most power I could hide in a pocket holster. Not for beginners.

Always a 1911. My combat commander or any of my governments. All tweaked and "accurized" with trigger and matched barrel/bushing jobs only. A bit of battle rattle to ensure cycling. Only 200 gr JHP's. Hydra Shok or Golden Sabers.

Back on the east coast, before retiring in '93, I carried a USGI M1911A1 with 230gr FMJs for 30+ years, and a Smith Centennial .38 as backup. That was when our local bad guys walked on two legs. Here in Alaska our local bad guys walk on four legs, are agile as cats, can motor along at 30-35mph, and often weigh in at over half a ton. Thus, when carrying these days it's an '04 series Ruger Vaquero, 4 5/8" barrel, with Buffalo Bore .45 Colt +Ps, all tucked in an I don't care who sees it cross draw holster. My better half carries a .41 Mag single action for the same purpose.
