Default Iver Johnson 38 top break

I would like to find out year mfg for my Iver Johnson 38 short barrel (3 1/2) top break. Serial #230 45 on bottom of trigger guard .... walnut handle

Also, if possible aprox value.

Welcome to the forum George.

The serial number that will identify when made is on left frame under the grip and will have a letter prefix. Patent dates and where marked will also be helpful.
