I just use walnut shell. I don't worry about the shine; it's clean, and that's all I care about.

Whatever chemical solutions any of you use, either by itself or in mizture with your favorite cleaning/polishing compounds, make sure it doesn't have ammonia in it. Ammonia will embrittle your brass, making it unsafe to use.

I use walnut on dirty range pick up brass then cob. For my brass I use only Cobb with nufinish.
Corncob gets the major dirt off. Cobb is more like a buffing pad and makes them shinny. That and I am anal about my reloads looking as good as they shoot. |
