Default Re: ARE YOU A SURVIVALIST?

I don't consider myself a survivalist. I have kidney failure and require dialysis to live. In a SHTF situation, I may not be able to get my dialysis, and if that's the case, all the prepping in the world won't save me. That being said, I do have some ideas and plans of what I COULD do, because I'll hopefully be going back to home dialysis soon. I can "hoard" spare dialysis supplies, and I could run my machine with a generator.

Worst case seniro is you leaving behind those tools need for a family member to survive with. While I'm in a little better shape than you are in, I still stock food, and any other essentials I think might be needed. Mostly these will be for my family. I don't think some of us older folks would last too long in a survival situration! I stopped by Wal Mart yesterday for a few items, and grabbed a bag of disposable razors, and a 8 pack to toothbrushes. I just keep adding, a little at a time!

Lamentations Chapter 5:
1. Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.
2. Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.
3. We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers [are] as widows.
5. Our necks [are] under persecution: we labour, [and] have no rest.
16. The crown is fallen [from] our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!
21. Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.

Just finished a book--The Cellist of Sarajevo by Steven Galloway. Fiction, but the opening chapters are about Sarajevo during the war there, and people surviving in a SHTF situation. Don't know how it stacks up against the real world, but it was interesting.
