i would suggest a nine shot 22 taurus,i bought the ultra lite for camp gun and is very easy to carry and very dependable,as far as the heritage its not really a quality gun.on the flip side you can purchase a 22 single six used for around 200.00 and have a lifelong companion. old semperfi

I have a Heritage Rough Rider and I love it. The only gripe I have about it is the finish rubs off easily. Other than that its a nice little gun.

You could "Pawn Shop" around for one. The Ace hardware where I used to work in Clewiston,FL sold them cheap a few years ago.

I used to have a HEritage rough rider. they are good guns for the money. Light and handy. They aint no colt frontier scout or a ruger single six, but they are good for thier purpose. and a classic 4 click to boot.

I started a thread on another forum about this very thing. I asked specifically for double actions, but was recommended a few singles as well.

http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=603210

I was mainly recommended old H&Rs, NEFs, Hi Standards and Iver Johnsons, but Heritages and Rugers were also on the list, as well as the Taurus, the only new inexpensive double that was mentioned. (I eventually got an H&R 999)

Heritage is a nice gun. Taurus recently bought the company, but I don't know if they offer their lifetime warranty on the Heritage pistols yet.
My local shop recently got in some Puma .22 single action revolvers. They are $199, brand new. I think they are only .22lr though, no .22mag cylinder.
