Default Open Carry Demonstration WA State - Support the 2A!

So this will be a work in progress, I will continue to add and update as I go as I hope you folks will also.

Found this:

http://www.examiner.com/article/moth...bage-along-i-5

^will try to link up with these folks also, looks like Dave Workman himself! Met him at the Puyallup, WA gunshow a few years ago and have his book. Despite some people's opinions on here, it has good information.

So my proposal is to try and get as many folks as possible together for an 'open carry demonstration', gathering, whatever. The goal is to expose as many Seattle-ites to firearms to hopefully dull their senses to make open carry common and less likely to get you hassled. 'warm up' the crunchies here so to speak and exercise our 2A rights.

Lot's of videos on youtube concerning OC, some are extreme, some are pretty humble.

If you have input (constructive that is) and/or want to participate, join in the thread or PM me.

I have set a time window of 10-12 August to give people a few days to flex around work or whatever. (Fri, Sat, Sun). This can be a one time event or continue on a regular basis, it's up to all of us.

plan on coming up with fun/productive stuff to do, there are some gunshops around and it is a big city so there is plenty to do. Fire away with your ideas.

No, you focus on School. If you are truly serious about an OC event, you will see how much is really going on in your state. take your time and even if you make a donation to an OC event or you participate in a small way or openly support it, you are supporting all GUN RIGHTS. Get it???????????????

yeah, and from poking around, there is even more events than I had hoped. Good to know there's a shred of sanity left here in WA.

and for certain not dumping school by any means; went straight into the Army after HS, playing catch up now; military is almost requiring college now for promotion and such.

for anyone showing up next month, this was recommended to me by another member here:

http://www.firearmslawyer.net/contact_us.htm

^ He's local (Federal Way), good CYA I think. Contacted him today via email, will probably go in in person either this week or next.

Registered on a bunch of the local forums, going to get the word out over there as well.

I know most of the LEO's in Thurston county here, wish I knew more in King county. Guess we'll know a few more by end of August...

spoke on the phone with ^ Mark Knapp, going to meet up Friday. Sounds like a great guy, can't wait to pick his brain; for certain a very knowledgeable fellow.

Holy crap, I know I will look like a freakin' idiot for this, my friend is getting married on saturday near portland. I won't make it to the litter pickup saturday 11 Aug, may try to crash the Olympia, WA OC meet on the way home sunday but that's it. Litter pickup looks like it's a rolling event every month, will see you guys in Sept for anyone who can make it then also.

Also, anyone local that wants to do any other OC meets send me a PM or post up in the events section. I'm over on opencarry.org under the same username also, I can be found lurking over there on occasion.

Met with Mr. Knapp, very good fellow to talk with, spent over 5 hours with him getting educated on the local laws and some recent cases, etc. Anyone local in western WA here, highly recommend a sit down with him; very good contact to have in the event of any run-ins that don't go in your favor or just to answer any questions you have.

Looking forward to meeting Dave Workman again in Sept at the next OC meet/litter pickup. should be fun!
