Came across a like new Remington 03A3 but the bolt body is marked: 88 (made by the Acros Co) I'm told is this correct for this rifle? Thanks

03A3 bolts were made by several manufacturers.
All bolts need to be headspace checked to any rifle that they are going to be used in. Also, I once bought a new bolt at a gunshow that I suspect of being rejected scrap. Be careful. If you are fitting a bolt to a rifle, you should have a journeyman gunsmith level of experience; and be familiar with these now old rifles. |

Acros is listed as a sub-contractor to Remington, so the bolt would/could be correct. Most parts used by Remington have the "R" marking in addition to the sub-contractor's mark, but I am not sure that is hard and fast. On the bolts I recall, the "R" is on the bottom of the bolt root, the sub-contractor mark on the rear.
