Default Scientology

So Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are getting divorced. No suprise there.

It was reported on a local outlet, and one of the comments made reference to Xenu. Being the curious sort I am, I had to put my googlefu to work.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xenu

Xenu ( /ˈzn/ ZEE-noo),[1][2][3] also spelled Xemu, was, according to the founder of Scientology L. Ron Hubbard, the dictator of the "Galactic Confederacy" who, 75 million years ago, brought billions[4][5] of his people to Earth in a DC-8-like spacecraft, stacked them around volcanoes and killed them using hydrogen bombs. Official Scientology scriptures hold that the essences of these many people remained, and that they form around people in modern times, causing them spiritual harm.

On the outside, the beliefs sound resonable enough. Family, devotion, caring for others, helping the community, etc. Get out the shovel, and holy moly!

Well, it's a religion founded by a science fiction writer. From what I recall hearing, the whole idea of Scientology started as a joke. Then they duped some rich fools out of their money and so it goes.

Anyone who believes a "religion" that would have you eating an umbilical cord, has a very serious problem, and it isn't just that you have a taste for wild game meat.

Just another cult. Any religion that does not have Jesus as the center is a cult. The truth hurts some times. As long as life is in us, there is time to change the path that we walk.

L Ron wrote that we are descendants of aliens who lit here on earth long ago, with racial memories of our lives as Thetans. We can't get to those memories because our minds have become clouded, but the nice folks at Scientology will CLEAR those clouds away - for a price.

My son did some work for them awhile back. He went to use the head and some clown rushed in and started jumping on him for not having an escort. The guy cleaned the sink and told him only members can use this bathroom and he must be escorted at all times. wtf kinda crap is that? hiding something? I can see a Jim Jones for them in the future or some kinda nutty stunt they fall for. Religion? um, I dont think so. They have more nuts than Jimmy Carter.

From what I hear, they have a big legal dept. constantly on the lookout for the unauthorized distribution of their literature in violation of copywrite? It's not easy to say anything against them if you don't know what they stand for.

What they stand for is public knowledge -
The copyrights they guard so jealously are the works they sell to members for HIGH fees that will remove the clouds from their minds and allow them to remember suppressed racial memories -

I read that she got tired of wearing the cub scout uniform to bed.

Scientology is the ultimate and perfect scam: it teaches that everything bad that happens to people is not their fault, it's caused by outside forces (body thetans) so nobody ever has to be responsible for the stupid decisions they make or the stupid actions they do in their life.

They also teach people that problems like schizophrena, bipolar disorder, depression, autism, etc should not be treated medically and that the medical profession is trying to control them through drugs.

The result is people with serious medical problems going untreated like Tom Cruise and Travolta's kid who died from a fatal siezure.

IMHO, adults of age should be able to join any cult they desire but their kids should be protected from it. I applaud what Katie Holmes did.

FYI:

If you study the history of Scientology, it started out as "The Modern Science of Mental Health" which is to say had a scientific spin. It only mutated into a religion when they realized that would help them avoid paying taxes on the astounding amounts of money they were extorting from the idiots who followed them.

I never had to be hypnotized, or pay any amount of money, etc, to be a member of the Catholic Church.

2. Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.
3. We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers [are] as widows.
5. Our necks [are] under persecution: we labour, [and] have no rest.
16. The crown is fallen [from] our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!
21. Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.

I would gladly become a muslim before ever becoming a scienwhackado.

Too bad some good actors and actresses are on the list.

I sure can't agree with that sentiment.
Scientology is a scam, out for $$.

Islam (per the Koran) is aimed at world domination, and directed by Alah to kill all who refuse to convert or live in slavery.

Never mind -
Arguing with a Muslim apologist is a complete waste of time.

Anyone doubting the murderous nature of Islam need only read the Koran.

Infidels (that's you and me) only have three choices, per the koran:

1. Convert to Islam
2. Live as slaves to Islam
3. Die.

I found the words of Muhammad in Hadith 4294:

"Fight in the name of Allah and in the way of Allah. Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah. Make a holy war...When you meet your enemies who are polytheists, invite them to three courses of action. If they respond to any one of these, you also accept it and withhold yourself from doing them any harm. Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them....If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah's help and fight them."

No Jesus, no end times - just a general directive.
