Default Surviving an Active Shooter Event

Just a short video for the masses put together by the Department of Homeland Security and the Houston, Texas, mayor's office.

Run. Hide. Fight.

What say you?

this was on another thread, kinda crazy video. Run, hide, fight, die... I guess this is proper for the average (unarmed) citizen...

but then there's folks like us who choose to arm ourselves and train with our weapons.

So I substitute 'run, hide, fight' with 'return fire while seeking cover' as my favorite (and most trained) option.

We should never "kill" the BG, we only stop him!

2. Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.
3. We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers [are] as widows.
5. Our necks [are] under persecution: we labour, [and] have no rest.
16. The crown is fallen [from] our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!
21. Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.

I know what Carver means, we don't want to even kid about "I wanted to kill the s.o....." cause we don't want to, under the stress of talking to cops afterwards, even have a chance to say something like 'kill' etc. I was scared for my life so I fired, I had to try and STOP him.' I see so often, people on newspaper article comments sections, saying stuff like 'I woulda put 3 in his head and killed the..' I caution em, when I read it, altho usually we know, the folks that say that junk probably don't have a gun, and if they do- probably shouldn't. I really practice what I'm gonna say if it ever happens, cause that's the worst time to stutter and make a mistake.

Very good food for thought. I am going to keep this in the back of my mind and hopefully be ready in a situation like this.
