time2shoot, those are awesome! Your wife seems to like the long-exposure stuff like I do.
I've never gotten as good of lightning shots as she has however. I use an interval timer with 30 second exposures continuously during thunder storms to TRY and get shots like this but I never do. ![]() I see a streak behind the wind turbine and one within its blades. Are you sure that's not an aircraft or satellite? The reason I ask is because I routinely get aircraft that look like streaks or even the occasional satellite under the right conditions. Depending on how long the shot was, it could be any of the above, including a shooting star. I'm not doubting you if you know that it's a shooting star though. I say this only because I attempted to get a shot of the meteor shower a couple of weeks ago and only got a few passing aircraft. Bummer... Nice shooting!!! ![]()

I found the shooting star - 2nd photo to the left of the lightning about in the middle of the lightning flash and at the edge of the cloud bank. It's either a shooting star or a new flash of lightning just beginning

HDR is what you do with Photomatix. I love that program I paid the $100 to own it. VERY MUCH worth the price if you are going to do that kind of photography. Have her check out stuckincustoms.com and RC Conceptions http://www.aboutrc.com/blog/
Here are a couple of my HDR shots from this summer. These were taking with my Nikon D5000 and the stock 18-55mm at F5.3 Sun Set in Avon NC (Outer Banks) ![]() Another sun set from Avon NC. ![]() These were taking with my Nikon D5000 and the Nikon 14-24mm Super wide angle lens. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...r_14_24mm.html My dads old Trac tractor. ![]() Burney Falls in Northern California. ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by cpttango30; 08-31-2012 at 05:14 AM.. |

Two of the Madison WI skyline at sunset. Both have some color/contrast tweaks done.
