I buy photo paper at yard sales, then print out a target on it using my laser printer. Since the laser toner doesn't stick like it should to the photo paper, it "pops" off right around the bullet hole. Works pretty good, but I wouldn't buy photo paper new for doing it...

I've been experimenting with some other materials and a nother method as well that may prove to be quicker and maybe even less expensive. I'll keep you posted.

Update:
I discovered the other day that you can reuse these targets several times. After shooting them, remove the bulls eye dot if you use one, rub the loose paint from the front side, press the holes as flat as you can on the back, repaint the front, add a new bulls eye dot and you are good to go again, and you can do this several times over. Even more money saved that you can now use for ammo and guns, and that is allways a good thing. Donnie D |

Thanks Donnie,
I showed your ideas to one of the Old Guys and he has made up several targets which we have used and they work great. Rather than using colored backer he took several discarded campaign signs that were discarded and uses them. They are white and made out of a "plastic cardboard" material that holds up well to repeated shots. Thanks to you we are saving money and have a good time.
