Need a bit more information. What exactly is the name on the gun, just as it is marked? And is it a single barrel or a double barrel? I have two listings for the name Burgess, just plain Burgess and Burgess Gun Co. The first was a "Trade Brand Name" used on double barrel shotguns sold by the Charles J. Godfery Stores, an importer and dealer located in New York City from 1875 to 1907 ( and maker unknown) and the second was a gun maker located in Buffalo,New York from 1898 to 1903. To give a value, we have to know the condition of the gun mechanically and cosmetic. A photo would help there.

The Burgess Gun Co. of Buffalo made a folding shotgun with an odd 12 guage "pump" action activated by an iron sleeve at wrist of stock. The current Flayderman's Guide says made ca. 1892-1899, and lists value in Very Good condition $550.
