My son has been saving his overtime money for a Ruger SR1911, he's been wanting one for about a year now. Finally he had his money saved and the local dealer had one in his display case and he bought it, so then he called me a few hours ago to see if I was home and he could stop by to show it to me.
I'm proud to see him make a decision and sticking to it till he achieved that goal......now I can't wait to shoot it.

Good for him, he has a lot more will power than I will ever have. If I try to save up for a certain item, I usually spend it for something else way before I have my planned amount saved!

They do come with cocobola grips, but any 1911 that comes to live with me gets rubber grips, and an arched MSH, just feels better. Easier for me to hang on to, point, aim, shoot, etc.. ![]() Last edited by 1911junkee; 09-03-2012 at 09:36 PM.. |

I was hoping you changed those grips. I hate the cocobola grips on ine the checkering is real deep and really takes a toll on the hand after awhile. My sig has rubber grips and I like those. Was looking into another set of grips for the ruger but havent decided on that wood yet.

Yeah he showed some will power. Here is how I usually do it - put a gun on lay away with the minimum down payment, plan on paying the minimum each month, end up paying the whole thing before the first monthly payment is due b/c I can't wait. I think I waited 2 months one time.
