Elmer Keith and Smith and Wesson of course. He came up with the first magnum which was the .357 S&W. S&W put it into production and gave the world the word "magnum" as applied to firearms.
Oh and when I think of Mopar engines I think of the hemi. And champagne goes flat if you try to down a magnum yourself. That's only for a crowd od drunks. I haven't touched the stuff in quite a while myself. And when I think of Selleck "Quigley" and that modified Sharps rifle he had comes to mind first. BTW the second thing I think of when it comes to magnums is Dirty Harry and the S&W Model 29 .44 mag. I have a Model 629 myself and I'll be keeping it too. That thing will stop a tractor trailer. The third thing I think of is kinda sick. The .44 caliber killer himself, the Son Of Sam - David Berkowitz. That sicko jerk started a long tradition of sicko jerks that continues to this day. Wanna be famous? Just go kill a few dozen people and you'll get your fame. Sick. People like him are why I carry a gun. Last edited by CJ_56; 08-31-2012 at 04:31 PM.. |

Quote:
Not to many African hunters among the general population though so when Kieth and company applied it to the .357 all of a sudden everybody heard about the new fangled high powered round that was to much power for the ordinary human being to handle without serious injury. That is what happens when you are used to shooting 32's or 38's and suddenly you finally get hold of a real gun. ![]()
