Default White Lighting

I got a marlin model 60, great gun, but I shot some white lighting target the other day....that stuff was off the chain!

Anyone shot that before?

Wondered that myself. Ammo or some type of target? 'Course, I don't even know what "off the chain" means. Good, bad or indifferent?

No ammo goes by all that name...Winchester White Box or Federal Lightning...but not both...as far as I know...

Off the Chain=good thing
Slang from Dog Fighting...where a dog off the chain is a happy dog...or at least ONE will be happy...the other dead...
Never expect slang to make perfect sense...
