Lookin good Highboy; care to share your recipe?

I did the same as you with 230 grain Berrys on top of 5 grains of bullseye. Its my favorite target load.

Just loaded 30 rounds of .348 Win. Using Hornady's 200gr FNSP bullets, CCI-200s and 60.7gr of H4350, they crono an avg of 2,291fps from my Browning 71 and manage consistent 5 shot groups of less than a inch at 50yds. (Rcvr sight.)

Next up will be another box of 180gr Nosler Partitions for my .308 BLR. I like to use 42.5gr of RL-15 and 210s for an avg velocity of 2,287fps from my rifle. With this load I've gotten 10 shot groups into >1.00" @ 100yds. (Leupold Veri-X III 1.75-6x32.) It's the 2nd Belgium made and the best shooting of the three BLRs I've had in this caliber.

OK, back from a 4 day bear/deer hunt, no luck. Saw lots of elk though which makes me hopeful for opening day of elk on saturday.

Soooo... loading up some fresh .308 rounds for the M1A as we speak, been using Nosler ballistic tips (168gn) for deer/bear, need more penetration so got a good load with Nosler accubonds for elk. Tried some out while out last trip, they hold same point of impact as the ballistic tips and are just as accurate.

165gn accubond with 41.5gns of H4895 behind it and now, thanks to my new factory crimp die, secured better and most likely more accurate although hard to get much more accurate than it already is, a tack driver she is. Will help with keeping the bullet in place while going through the harsh and brutal feeding of the gas gun.

beware elk, 3 points or more cross my sights and you're getting mowed down with Noslers spitting outta my M1A. First round will be nice and careful then it's game on with some serious amount of follow up shots. Same with bear, it's getting hammered hard, got 20 rounds on tap. hopefully there will be some meat left.

.357 mag "Plinking Laod"

I asked one of the experts here for a suggestion on a plinking load using the components I had and one that was less than 1000fps so leading wouldn't be a problem. He suggested 3.7grs. of TiteGroup behind my 158gr. Laser Cast LSWC bullets. That load fell well with in specs in my manuals (sorry Josh but I had to check, ha.) so I set about using my RCBS Rockchucker, their 3 die carbide set and finishing off using the Lee FCD to put a moderate roll crimp on the cases. Cases were new StarLine and primers were CCI #500 small pistol. COL was 1.60.

I have not used a lot of TiteGroup but I am impressed with how accurately it meters. I weight every tenth powder drop just to make sure things are going as planned and the TiteGroup was right on each and every time using my RCBS 5-10 beam scale.

Now the hard part is ahead. The reloads look great, the revolvers are in excellent condition so it will be up to the shooter do his part. Hope to get down to the range in the next two weeks and see if I can keep the shakes to a minimum and let this load do it's thing.

plan on another case prep marathon wednesday night.

anyone notice primers flying off the shelf.. my local supplier store had nothing but a tray or two of odd primers.. like some large pistol and a tray of magnum large rifle.. nothing in between>

Soundguy, at the local gun show Saturday I found CCI small and large, pistol and rifle primers for $30/1000 if you bought a case (5000). If you only bought a 1000 they were $33. I almost bought a case but I am pretty well supplied right now. Hope they stay available.

I've got .44 Rem Mag brass in the vibro tumbler cleaning, and I'm sitting here watching the election returns. Yes, it can and does get better then this, but for tonight this will do just fine.

Tomorrow night though... WE RELOAD.

I got up early to go to the range, looked out side and I see . . . RAIN , so I am going out to do some reloading. It's not as fun as shooting but it is a distant second.

A friend, at work, gave me about 500 pieces of mixed brass, mostly 30.06 and 9mm, both of which I have already tumbled, so I guess I will load up some of those today.

I relaoded a little too tonight. bout 200 more Toks and started on Goofys .50 Beowulf ammo. Once i got to a stopping point I started working on a beat up ol winchester model 12 a customer gave me. Had a bulged barrel and was missing a screw, plus rusted all up. I cleaned the rust off cut the barrel behind the bulge and sawed the stock off. Turned out pretty good for a rusted ol freebie shotgun..

me and the 4 year old sorted about a month's worth of shotgun hulls today, what a chore. lost count after about 15 different gauges/brands of hulls, I'm a range scavanger.

mostly 12g's but some 28's and .410's also.

got almost 200# of shot ready to stuff, haven't shot skeet in almost a month due to hunting season.

A friend gave me a big jar of RP 45acp brass a while ago and I haven't been real excited about loading it because the new RP brass is so thin I usually just toss it. Much to my delight this brass turned out to be very good-much on the order of starline nowadays. So I preceded to load up 100 rounds of 230 grain berrys plated over 4.7 grains titegroup for a nice midrange target load.
