Default iver johnson 28 gauge

i have a Iver Johnson 28 gauge.Top of barrel is stamped 28 gauge barrel and lug forged in one. Its a single shot rifle that i would like to get more info on. serial # 46982

Welcome to TFF Mike, but if it's a 28 gauge it's a shotgun, not a rifle.

Iver Johnson shotguns with all numeric serial numbers are said to date 1909-1919 period, but there are no year by year lists.
