Default Damascus Double Barrel

I have a 30 inch double barrel Syracuse Arms ser # 5801. Any info would be great.

I expect the better-informed and more educated board members to give their thoughts on this, but...don't shoot it just yet. I've read Damascus barrels were originally intended for black powder and may not hold together with today's high pressure loads of smokeless.
As I said, I won't claim to be an expert on this. Just wanted to give you a caution warning!
