SECURITY officers at Parliament House have been told to allow visitors to enter without taking off balaclavas or other headwear.
Liberal senator Cory Bernardi raised the issue during a Senate estimates hearing today, querying why some people were being asked by security officers at the entrances to remove their hats or other headwear while others, such as those wearing facial veils, were not.

Bronwyn Graham, a senior official from the Department of Parliamentary Services who manages security officers, told the hearing she was concerned about inconsistency in applying the policy, which was not to ask anyone to remove headwear.

Asked whether a member of the public could enter wearing a balaclava without being asked to take it off, Ms Graham said: "That is the advice that has been given to our staff."

Security screening procedures were mainly aimed at identifying prohibited items, such as knives.

"We are not at that point concerned about identity - we don't ask people for identity as they enter the building, particularly in the public areas," Ms Graham said.

"(But) if there is anyone that is behaving in a manner or raises suspicions with our security staff, the advice to our staff is they conduct an appropriate level of surveillance on that person"

and i'll be taking lots of goodies to freak the living daylight outta them

when they realise what been left behind....

I swear by Almighty God i will defend this nation from all enemies both foreign and domestic

they where the words i said 37 years ago and they are as strong to me today as they where then..

This was done because we are fighting the debate and winning and waking lots of folks up , now they say the debate dont matter , ( i got news for em)

the Greens (socialists) hold too much sway with the government at the moment and did this to gazump the debate

i'm gonna show em ( gov) just how big a mistake that was and show em who they got into bed with ( greens and their Muslim paymasters)

remember the old saying

lay down with dogs

you get up with fleas

time for the bites to start

the thing i hate is even when you get a shot at showing the facts they dodge it

they have gone to every news organisation that was coming and stated the debate is not needed, and because they make up part of the government the press say ok and no interest in showing facts so instead of national and international news we have a guy from a local affiliate if nothing else important comes along ....

they told the press that they had decided this in canberra , no one decided anything they just pushed hard at the security staff and told them they'd be sued for hate crimes

gives me the $#it$

I wish there were more people in the world like you Jack, that were willing to take a stand and do something about it . I'm reminded of a speech in which Patton quoted the bible ," the complacency of fools will destroy them." If you are unwilling to stand with your fellow patriots, then you are truley a fool.
