Most people never focus down the road further than about 2-4 cars lengths ahead of them.

I have to say,,,, two big orange flags,,, a 2 foot bump,,, HELLO. Can you imagine if they were texting on the cell phone? One second texting, the next second they see sky. They were very fortunate they wern't hurt and I'll bet they weren't the only ones to catch air.

Ya, and clean the seats too. I wonder why Hillbilly is calling B.S. He knows something we don't, but will he give it up?

I am sort of going into Hillbilly's camp on the BS. I just can't fathom a road in that condition being open to traffic. I don't believe and highway dept. is going to come out and put a couple a couple signs on pavement in that condition and leave it open to traffic. Something smells.

That is what me and the missus said. The highway dept would have closed it because moist cars would high center on a bump that big if they were going slow and of course delivery trucks, that's another story. It does stink.

i have never seen asphalt buckle. if it did, and i say if it did how thick would the black top have to be to support the weight of the car going over it, and if it was that hot as soon as any weight hit it it would return to a big glob.
i'm not saying it couldn't happen, but i would have to be there to see it .

There is more vid of this. This one shows a line of cars pulled over. I expect that the bump got much worse after the DOT put up the signs.

That makes total sense. That bump was huge and could you imagine hitting it on a motorcycle.

I've seen concrete sidewalks buckle like that although it took a good 10 years for it to go from flat to 3 feet high and I've seen asphalt melt in the heat and stick to tires, not just get hot and sticky but actual chunks of the asphalt coming up and sticking to tires. It looks plausible but how could it be that big if a hump and only have a couple of flags, in the second video it looks big, the first video looks like it was some kids that decided to try and jump it and get it on video. As big as that hump is the freeway should have been closed.

i just cant understand if it buckled, why the state hiway dept didn't take a saw and cut it and let it fall together normal. they went there to place warning signs why not saw it and fix it?
i have seen train rail buckle where they would have to remove a foot of it in the summer then replace it in the winter
