I am sure you are probably aware that you can get a 3.5# set up very cheaply. I think it is less than $10.

I have heard that if you get into some trouble and have to put a BG on the ground, in court the PA will bring you modifying your trigger pull up, trying to say you are making your pistol EASIER to kill with.
