I'm going on vacation soon and I'm considering Colorado Springs actually. Its been a long time since I've been to the states and I'm wondering what the gun laws are like for borrowing a firearm.
I'm just looking to do some target shooting, not hunting.

Welcome to TFF, bigshot.
Not sure what you mean by "borrowing." Generally, the gun laws in Colorado are pretty reasonable. We are a "will issue" state for CCW, and hunting is a major activity here, so the laws relating to firearms are rational. Denver tries to regulate more than other areas of Colorado. For example, it is legal in Colorado (except for Denver) for an adult individual to carry a loaded handgun in his or her vehicle for sefl-defense, even without a concealed carry permit. Here is a place you can read up on the laws relating to firearms in Colorado:http://www.packing.org/states.jsp

ahh thanks a lot
i'm not looking to carry actually i should clarrify my intentions: i'm just looking to do some target-shooting while i'm down in the states. i can do it up here but i'm out in a pretty small town and the local gun club here doesn't have a very good assortment of firearms to choose from. up here we can borrow/lend firearms on shooting ranges or just our own property without a permit/license or whatever. its not a bad loop hole in the otherwise really harsh laws. so i'm guessing when i'm down there i could just look up a nearby gun club/range and basically "rent" a firearm from them for use on their range |

OH, so that's what you mean.
Many ranges do "rent" firearms. I am not familiar with the Springs area. Maybe someone that is, will be along shortly. Enjoy your vacation.
