Bomber caught in Dallas - The Firearms Forum

DALLAS - Dallas FBI agents arrested a Jordanian citizen Thursday afternoon for attempting to bomb a skyscraper in Downtown Dallas.

According to the bureau, 19-year-old Mosam Maher Husein Smadi was arrested and charged for attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction.

Smadi had been under continuous FBI surveillance and was arrested after he allegedly placed and tried to detonate an inactive car bomb near Fountain Place, a 60-story glass office tower located at 1445 Ross Avenue, the FBI said.

Folks, we were lucky today. Someone got suspicious, alerted the FBI. This could have been much bigger than OKC. As it was, the bomb was a dummy, but he got into the parking garage, planted the "bomb" and triggered the detonator.

So, keep your eyes open. We're not safe. The east and west coasts have been the focus of attacks up until now. Now, the middle is under attack, because we're more laid back. We caught this guy. But, as I said, we were lucky. We can catch 100, but if 1 gets by, people will die.

There are two basic motives for these bombers. One is to make as big a name for themselves as possible. That is the reason for the boming of large building, crowds and such.

The second os to spread torror generally though the populace. One of the best ways to accomplish that would be to attack some small community with a toxin or disease which would wipe out the entire town. One or two of those would really put this nation in a panic. This was tried in SoCal a number of years agom but the perps were caught before they could plant the water borne nasties.

Obozo is going to get Americans killed with his policy of @$$ kissing appeasement. Period. End of story. Even his VP Biden thinks so.

The only way to deal with terrorists is to kill them. All of them.

You say you're peaceful, prove it and turn in the jihadists, then maybe you can stay here. If you don't, you can go back to the sand box you crawled out of.

There, that's a nice reasoned response to both the appeasement policy and terrorists in general.

A follow up:

He was working in a small town south of Ft. Worth, known as "Sam" running a Sonic. The locals didn't have a clue. He blended in, never raising a red flag. He looked at numerous places, including a National Guard armory, and other smaller sites, but decided to go big.

He just happened to open his mouth to the wrong (right!) person. Otherwise, the outcome could have been real bad. ARB, you're right. I'm curious to find out how he got in. Could have just flown in on a tourist visa and stayed.
