There may be a few AMT Backups floating around still...

I just got a Seecamp .32 so if I shoot twice it's a .64

Friend of mine has a Detonics, that is quite small. Neat little gun.
Para-ordnance makes some small .45`s

The Kahr PM45 might be the smallest/lightest I'd want to attempt to shoot, and I understand that it kicks a bit much for quick follow-up shots...

If you can still find one, the Star Firestar was available in .45ACP. Model M-45
I don't think it is the smallest out there, but it's compact enough for carry and is full-steel which helps soak up the recoil of a .45 in a small-frame.
Not sure if they've been discontinued or what...I was out of the scene for a few years and Star doesn't seem to be around anymore.

A friend had an M-45 and at the time I didn't care for the recoil so I picked up an M-40 in .40S&W instead. Both were great shooters.

Nice job Bindernunt, I use a m-40 daily and I love it. It was my first handgun! They aren't made any more but you can buy them dirt cheap! The spanish steel is heavy, but what a great deal for the money.

I have been carring a Tarus 24/7 for the last 6 months, no complaints about it at all. They usually go for around $330 in black and $350 for the stainless. Capacity is 12 + 1 in .45 ACP it also has second strike capibility(you can pull the trigger twice on the same round).

Glock 36 is small and lightweight. It is slightly smaller than a Colt Compact and lighter.

I may have to do some window shopping. Might look at the Taurus 745, Glock 36 and the Kahr.

I have the pt145 but I think the Taurus pt 745 is a little smaller and still in .45 acp. I think Pistol has one. At least on the Taurus website the 745 appears smaller.

That Kahr PM45 is nice and small. Accurate as heck. Follow-up shot not a problem but I haven't had much luck with it's reliability. Had it for one year and 4 days. Been back to Kahr five times. I've documented the whole ordeal on pistolsmith forum under section for Kahr. I still have the gun and after 2,697 rounds through the gun and 2 barrels and 2 slides, it is now starting to function reliably. The latest hiccup is that on four occasions during combat reload, the slide jumps forward when I slam the magazine into the well but it doesn't chamber a round. Size to caliber to weight ration, it can't be beat.

It's a 45, just not ACP. The G39 is the size of a G26/27 and is small and packs the same punch.

Other than that the EMP is the way to go IMHO.

Just curious why you want to carry a pocket pistol in 45 cal? A small grip and short barrel doesnt leave much for any accuracy when in the heat of the moment. An AMT 45 backup is functional, but so much wasted energy. I guess it would be great for a point blank head shot if you run across any roaming zombies. I would prefer a 45 in a full size handgun, but more likely to get a higher percentage of hits with a smaller caliber. Any thoughts?

A Semmerling is possibly the smallest .45 ACP you can find. But it is cycles by finger on the slide after each shot. About the size of a pack of cigarettes. They were being made again, I think by someone involved with Charter Arms.

I have an American Tactical Titan in stainless, it's pretty small. Just not real proficient in posting photos.
