Ignorance is a crime in 49 states. In the other one it is bliss. Charles Daly's are decent guns, but not quite up to the quality of the Big 3....Colt, Kimber, and Springfield. Ted Riedel Member Posts: 1 (2/11/03 1:06:58 am) Reply | Edit | Del Charles daly 1911s -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have had two. The first one went back to the factory after the first day of (trying to, at least) shooting. Worst POS I have ever had. The factory elected to replace it rather then repair it. All well and good except that I had to wait another 15 days to make my "Socialist Would be Masters" (AKA the Gov. of California) happy before I could pick up my gun. The second one had some jamming problems at first (first 200-300 rounds) but with use and a change to Wilson Mags has come a pleasing reliability. Enough so that it is now one of the two guns on my carry permit. Full power .230 gr loads print 4" below POA at 25 yards. I may look into installing an adj rear sight to help take care of that. Other then that, I know longer have any complaints re the gun. Would I buy one again? Yes if money was tight. Otherwise I would probably try a Kimber or Springfield. I had a chance to get one of these this past weekend. It was about $35 more than what I had in my pocket at the time. I went with the Ruger P97 instead!!

I bought one about 3 months ago. I have fired about 300 rnds of ball ammo through it of all mgr brands. Not a single jam and real nice groups up to 25yrds. I was told the mags it came with are a different band then they use to come with. Nice gun for the price.Under $400 new.

If you get one look carefully for parts that don't appear to be fitted to the gun re: gaps where they don't belong and the absence of all grinding marks normally found inside.
