Some idea of worth?
“Custer Era” 1873 Springfield “Trapdoor” 45-70 Carbine
Produced early 1875. All correct parts, and mechanically sound. Overall length approx. 41.3" MODEL / 1873 / eagle head-crossed arrows / US on top, and Z on underneath side of high arch breechblock, 40745 on receiver, U.S. / SPRINGFIELD / 1873 on lock plate, US on top of butt plate, U on the left side of the single bbl. band, and PAT M 31 74 (March 31, 1874) on stacking swivel. 22" silver / grey bbl. w/ sharp rifling and shinny bore. Course checkered hammer - three position tumbler. Trigger guard two piece construction. M73 rear sight w/ non-slotted screws. Front sight - inserted vertical blade. Dents / dings few and insignificant, except for small sliver of wood missing at bottom of butt end of long wrist stock w/ sling bar and saddle ring. Most of the circle, and part of the P visible on firing proof, but only a trace of the Maser Armory cartouche. Believe carbine has been arsenal cleaned, and never reissued. Appreciate any expert opinions.
