Winchester Model 70 worth - The Firearms Forum

I just got a rifle from my brother that he bought in 1981 He paid $433 for it. Model 70 standard 30/06. It is excellent shape and only been fired a little at a range. What else do I have to know in order to get a general worth? It has a 1.5 to 5 leopold scope on it

The post Model 70 was built in more variations than Carter has little liver pills ( lets see how many people remember those ). Pictures will be needed for valid information. I can say that in looking at one of my guides the more common Model 70s are listed at between 375 and 550 in Exc. Perhaps others will have more information or also need pictures.

!!! IN ORDER TO GIVE YOU A GOOD VALUE WE NEED PIC.But i will do the best i can. Was it new when it was bought? The newer mod.70 are worth 100%-$600,down to 60%-$200 They were made 1964-1980. the standard(that is the mod.)was made pre 1964 and post 1964 but the pre is worth more (ALOT) so more info is needed. Ser.# so on> try to post pics.......................GOOFY

As i said the mod. is standard they made different mod. but they all had names not #

YES!!! as jack says the scope is worth good money but someone else will be along to help you with that (scopes are not my bag).............GOOFY
