As with all books written in a given shop, yes it is biased in that it's examples will show their equipment.
That said, however, generically all equipment works in a similar manner. The Lyman book is the BEST and MOST COMPREHENSIVE between two covers and represents a very good starting place.
I would admonish, though, that you purhcase as many different books as possible. I have, in addition, hornady, sierra and several others. Each is slightly slanted toward their products but the information is invaluable. This is a help when you are using a particular manufacturers bullets. Also, I have found the Sierra computer program a good place to check. It includes their manuals AND detailed ballistics in their Infinity software.
We had another thread similar to this which was headed in an early post:
- - - - - - READ, READ, READ, READ, READ, READ, READ !!!!!!
This is IMPORTANT and should be followed.
Good luck. You'll love it and will fast become addicted, if not already.....
Just 2¢ worth of advice from the very ole Jedge.....
