Default Help dating a ruger 10/22

This Hardware store near me had this gun on the rack forever. Ruger 10/22 I know myself it has been there for at least 7 years. The serial number is 247-66190 Well today I told him I would give him 150.00 out the door and he accepted. Is this an ok price for this gun? It still has the metal trigger assembly and barrel band. He told me he logged it into his book on 4/16/98 Is there anyway to tell just how old this gun really is? Thanks, JUNK

How did you find this out FTK? I guess it is pretty cool to have a brand new 12 year old gun. Was the price on this ok? 150.00 out the door? It isn't anything special just a plain Jane smooth walnut stock. No checkering, No other bells and whistles. I'm don't know weather to safe it or lets the mod's begin. Thanks, JUNK

You can find the manufacture date here;

http://www.ruger-firearms.com/servic...tHistory.html#

The price you paid is very good for a NIB gun that is 12 years old. There are millions of those guns out there. Shoot it, mod it, do whatever you wish with it.

When dating a Ruger, you must show respect. Open the door for it. Seat the Ruger first. Pull out the chair for it. Watch you language around the Ruger. Rugers are a little on the rough side, but you still want to follow basic manners. Really, it's just common sense.

...and never talk about that nylon 66 you used to have.

$150 is very good for this gun. It is a super reliable, fun to shoot rifle.
