Rush Says Obama Wants Economy to Tank... I've been saying this for WEEKS!

But I believe, and I mean this from the bottom of my heart, that he doesn't mind the economy and market tanking right now. It only furthers his interests in assisting his panic-driven agenda in the short term. The worse it gets, the more prone average Americans are to get frustrated and scared and say, "do something!" And Obama goes out and makes a speech and says, "We're going to do something." "All right, we're doing something!" We're not doing anything to make it better. We're not doing one thing to improve the lives of average Americans and there are plenty of things that we could be doing.

I wrote the same thing, in similar language in a response to a local news story a couple of weeks ago. Funny thing... They took the story off the rotating banner and put it on the back page under 'more links' in about 30 minutes. I've had that happen on 3 stories in particular. On one, they rewrote the story to remove the parts about gun control I proved were wrong, deleted my comments, and then turned off the ability to comment. I'm pretty proud of being up to speed on the issues sometimes (not all the time) but what disturbs me is that so many other people SHOULD BE!!!! We all read this stuff and discuss it daily. Tell someone else!

The comment I made on the local news website in response to a story entitled "Bernanke: Economy In 'Severe Contraction'" that likely prompted them to place the story on the back burner...

Because domestic consumer spending comprises 2/3rd of our GDP and two negative quarters of GDP is a sign of recession, wouldn't it be wisest to stop reporting incessantly negative news regarding the economy in order to bolster consumer spending? After all, consumer confidence is directly proportional to consumer spending habits and the reason consumer confidence sags is because of what is reported. If folks are told not to spend, they don't, and then when everyone chooses to spend less, people lose jobs and can afford less. This is a vicious cycle that HAS to be broken or we could get into a state that cannot be reversed. The negative tone of elected officials and the news media as a whole would almost imply that someone WANTS the economy to tank. Let's hear some positive spin every now and then.

Yep, Barack Obama and The Strategy of Manufactured Crisis... It is some scary stuff indeed!

As it was posted on 9/28/2008, and describes virtually everything we see happening today, it makes you think... A LOT!!!!

The Strategy was first elucidated in the May 2, 1966 issue of The Nation magazine by a pair of radical socialist Columbia University professors, Richard Andrew Cloward and Frances Fox Piven. David Horowitz summarizes it as:

The strategy of forcing political change through orchestrated crisis. The "Cloward-Piven Strategy" seeks to hasten the fall of capitalism by overloading the government bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands, thus pushing society into crisis and economic collapse.


Cloward and Piven were inspired by radical organizer [and Hillary Clinton mentor] Saul Alinsky:

"Make the enemy live up to their (sic) own book of rules," Alinsky wrote in his 1989 book Rules for Radicals. When pressed to honor every word of every law and statute, every Judeo-Christian moral tenet, and every implicit promise of the liberal social contract, human agencies inevitably fall short. One local talk show host made light of the fact that trillions of dollars of value had been lost in the common stock market in the past few months. He also observed that it would make sense that this would serve the government well since these private firms are now worth less and more easily absorbed?... I have to think that's a true observation.
