Colt Viper Grip Question? - The Firearms Forum

I have just completed my Colt snake collection with a NIB 4" Boa and a very clean Viper that had a few rounds through it I'm told. My Viper looks like brand new but has black rubber grips with gold Colt medalions. I thought I read somewhere that Colt made a later run of the Viper with parts that were left over from 1977. Could this be the case? Any help would be appreciated.I can ad pictures if it would help.Uploaded some pictures . Sorry about clearity.
