Default Got to give out some thanks

Dcon for some tools (greatest friend one could ask for)
Autozone for a pitman arm puller (was very tight fit but worked)
Advance auto for the cheap part but the best waranty
Had to replace the power steering gear box on my ranger.
Losened up everything but the pitman arm last night. Got her finished up this evening. Thanks Don for the tools. I will bring them back tommarow unless you need them sooner. If so call Crystal and she will bring them to you.

No problem. I had a pitman puller but it is in the bottom of my big toolbox. Don

Ray, please don't bash us mechanics too hard!
My tool box represents nearly as much investment as my gun safe, and it holds stuff I need, to fix a vehicle I do not own, as opposed to holding, in the case of the gunsafe, stuff I want!
You're right about friends, of course, but as to the side issue; had you no option, but to BUY all the tools necessary to replace the gearbox, instead of simply borrow them, and, factoring in the value of the time involved, the cost of just taking it to a shop, and having the work done, might have been less!
Anyhow, we're all glad that you are home, safe, and THANK YOU VERY MUCH, for your mideast tour!
I remember a time, many years ago, when returning servicemen were taunted, sworn at, and even assaulted, for their time, and trouble.
I hated it then, and now; it was neither your war, nor your choice, but you did what you were called to do, and that's a lot!
From all of us, to both of you, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

I am not trying to bash no one. But it is really bad when some one wants over $50 an hour and pays their workers less than $30. Also when another shop here in town wants over $30 to install a valve stem when I can go to wally world and have them do it for less than $2.00. I know the feeling when it come to the price of tools. I have had 2 different sets stolen from me. One was over $1000. But hey I am willing to pay $20 per hour to do a job but any more than that I might try to do it my self depending on the job.
