That is an early model with flip type sight, pushbutton safety , flat bolt and no bayonet lug Nice carbine. I will let someone more knowledgeable estimate value

It's not an M1A1, 'cause the A1 was the folding-stock paratrooper model. Just an M1.

You forgot to list the high wood when saying all the nice stuff.

Simply as a point of reference - about 1.5 years ago, I arranged, for a friend, the private sale of an early 1942 Winchester, un-messed with, all correct, collector grade/excellent condition - for $2200.

I recently sold an original configuration Rockola for $2500. I would estimate your Inland would bring around $1500 or so.

When the carbine was first adopted, it was cosidered a wartime expedient. It ended up staying in service so long that very few escaped the various changes and upgrades.
That one is beautiful and the price WW mentioned is probably a minimum. Jim |

With out violating any board rules.....I am in the process of understanding value and locating Collectors. If I am not supposed to say that I apologize and just erase the comment.

Mainline,
That's a fine looking Inland carbine you have there. They are a fun gun to shoot, as well as a piece of American history. I have an Inland carbine with the barrel date of 10-43. I am posting some pics of mine. The tiger-striped wood on the stock is kind of unique. Old Gun Guy ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
