I don't get it.!!!!!
I can't see the problem or even why there is a debate over health care. Take a good look at your cousins to the north. They have a really good system of health care and it is paid for through the general tax system. Every thing remains the same as before exept for the fact that you don't get the medical bill. The government gets it and it is paid for by your taxes.(nothing is free) In canada medical administration is about 20% of the bill while in the USA its about 80%. When we once had private medical it was patened after the system you now have. When we changed to universal coverage there was a huge out cry of mass unemployment in both the insurance and medical feild. Well guess what, IT DIDN'T Happen . Nothing changed and in fact there was a slight shortage of medical staff. Isn't it about time someone told those politions that it is the people who take care of thier country and inexchange the country takes care of its people. I'm goin for a drink. I travel all over north america and I have used the medical services in many countrys. As a Canadian and with our system, you have alot of freedom to travel without the fear of getting sick and having a huge medical bill. In fact most Canadians arn't even aware of thier coverage. Here is a personal example. Jamaca---no bill Cuba----no bill Dominican Republic----no bill St. Luasa---no bill USA---- bill---outrages amount of paper work and in the end very small bill. Mexico----no bill but did have to pay for meds. I don't think the American public has any idea of how the pharacutical companys are screwing over the american public. In Canada we have caps on the persecption drugs. IE. I have to take Voltran for spinal nerve damage. Canada ---$1.30 per tab Usa ----$1.50 per tab Mexico 3 cents per tab. Dominican Republic 4 cents per tab All by the same company ! Now I know the drug companys have to make a profit for resurch ect, But come on , look at the outrages profit margin. grcsat, the bottom line is that folks from up north come to the U.S. for medical treatment. Why is that? I am 62 years old, and in my life time, here in America, I have never seen anyone who could not get medical treatment when they needed it, and they did not have Medical Insurance! Here, in America, it is against the law for the Government to force us to buy anything, including Medical Insurance. The Obozo bill contains over 2,000 pages, and no one knows what is in it! Repeal the this corupt peice of legislature, and then make a few laws that make sense. If Obozo veto's the Repeal, then Congress simply will not finance it. Come 2012 it will disapear completly, if it don't go now.

This bill is already costing the american people a pile of money. Insurance companys can not compete with the government and have already been raising rates like crazy. Before its all worked out, it will cost the taxpayer and create more job loss and force companys out of business. The 2000 pages of mumbo jumbo is nothing more than a socialist power grab. It will push this country over the edge. The final nail in the coffin so to speak. REPEAL HEALTH CARE NOW! You can bet my signature is on that petition.

Guys, I know none of you support Obama, nor do I, but this health care bill is something that's good for the US. My mom got cancer 10 years ago and beat it, but now she can't get health insurance due to the pre-existing condition. She even has a good job with benefits and her husband has a good job with benefits, BUT they both insurances declined her. Now she has a small heart issue she's dealing with and she can't get any medical care.
Think about it. The insurance companies are in control now. They do what they want, there is no regulation. If the Repubs repeal this, then we will have the same problems, this is a disaster. Obama care is NOT goverment healthcare like Canada. Obama care keeps insurance in the private insurance hands, however it does not allow them to exclude people like my mother - and it forces people to get a cheap policy through a private insurance company so that we don't end up paying for it anyways (like we all do with our taxes). |

Our health care isn't perfict but its better than most anywere in the world. Sure we have problems and a lot of abuse but its still better than what my relatives are payn in the US.
I live about 15 minutes from the 7 Oaks Hospital and its full of US Vets. Why is that? Why is the US sending thier Vets to Canadian hospitals? The reson is that its 30% cheaper in Canada than the US. Any one have an idea as to how many US insurance claims and operations are done in Canada just to save a buck ? The numbers are stagering. And yet you never hear about it in the news or read about it in your insurance policy. Where to I get this info? My wife used to be on the Canadian ekg/ecg medical board of directors. My youngest daughter is a MD. shrink. In Canada if you work for a company that offers medical insurance it is illegal for them to turn you away regardless of your or family's medical conditions. The insurance company must exept you and you cannot be turned down. Our entire medical system is suported on the tax of booze. That is why we pay two to three times as much for beer, wine ect. Its a small price to pay for the returns of "free medical" Most of my US relatives have move to Canada when they reach age 60 because of the "free medical". Some of our Canadian retirement areas such as Kelona have far more x US persons than Canadian. I must be dense or something because I can't undstand why anyone would want to pay outright for medical rather than have it universal. Oh yea, Forgot, In Canada we also have private hopitals and private clinks. The only differance I can see is private has realy nice wating rooms while public wating rooms look like shXX. Get me a free shXX looking waiting room over a nice expencive private one any time. Last edited by grcsat; 01-07-2011 at 11:49 AM.. |

They asked me for an adress , so I gave them one in the Toronto area. Mount Pleasant ,Toronto ,Ont. For those of you who don't know, Mount Pleasant is Canada's largest sanatorium. |
