Picked up Federal Champion 22LR 36 gr HV, HP 550 round bulk pack at Walmart for $15.47.

Price at Graf $ 17.59
Price at Midway $ 19.99
Price at Natchez $ 28.94

Quite a spread !

Federal Champion is some of my favorite ammo when I can find it. The price difference for the same ammo is why I always hit my local Walmarts before going to Bass Pro or others looking for something to shoot.

I bought a bunch of it at Cabela's last year when it was on sale. It wasn't as good of a deal as Walmart, but at least it was in stock and shipped right away.

It's gone up a little paid less than $14 for mine last year,pretty decent stuff for plinking out of my Mod. 60.

The Federal 22 pak is 550 rounds, not 525.

bought Federal in both counts at different times, just depends on which Federal product and what marketing dept is doing

I have seen both, last time I saw them at walmart they were 525. I thought that was pretty odd!

The red box Federal Bulk Pack sold at Walmart is 550 rounds. The blue box Federal Champions are 525. Different product, the Champions are supposed to be better???

And the Vo Nella & black boxed Federal Target Grade ammo has 325 rds. per box.

My walmart doesnt have that ammo at alll they say they get it in but it never seems to come in???????????

SSDD!!! Ours are all still stripped naked most of the time too, I haven't seen any .22 ammo there for months. Luckily I laid-in about 10,000 rounds of .22 last summer when I saw this mess coming.

Early bird gets the ammo,you need to ask the ammo person behind the counter what day & time there ammo shipments come in and when there put it out,your response may vary on that some know and are very helpful some don't have a clue. Then make a plan or arrangements to be there and pick some up,you can most likely even pre-purchaser a few days ahead of time and they will hold it for you.

Used to get it for about $8.99. I haven't been able to find it for a reasonable price for a long time, so I haven't bought any, but I'm going to have to man up and pay the higher prices soon.

Not exactly! This is the direct quote from Federal Ammunition customer support:

"They are the exact same ammo, just packaged in 525 rounds and 550 rounds, the 550 rounds are sold at Wal-Mart."

Check the specs in the last picture to see for yourself.
