working on the conversions for you now

now 1st thing is your round the 22-250 is a long range round , your far better off zeroing to as far as you think your mid point range will be than say 100 as this round will drop more than you can adjust at 500 if its a light round ( 40-60 gr)

oh and i'm adding stuff here i'm saving as i go so the storm here done make me time out again so its a ongoing work

here is a 64 grain corbon DPX

ok the reason is shows a non 00.00 measurement at 100 is the scope height i did not work out but did a generic mount height for a Howa of 22 mm ( mins this height as is another i have for sale here

now how did i work that ?

a ballistics calculator .. http://gundata.org/ballistic-calculator/

but now we have to work this out for you

so you have 1/8 mil of arc adjustments so lets work it rough for you

at 400 its 16.93 below target so you need to adjust so

16.85 ( lowest 0.125 value or 1/8th inch) = 174 clicks

far better to have it zeroed at a range that you'll shoot

i have mine zero'd at 250 cause i shoot 300 400 500 often with it so i've not used anywhere close to all my adjustment

also this is dead on 2 inches HIGH at 100 yards so its a easy range to zero ( dont need a 250 range to test it)

and if i get a close in shot unexpected i cam allow with a goodly amount of accuracy

Ok jack I think I'm beginning to understand a little, as of right now without the use of my turrets I have my rifle zeroed @ 300, this puts me around 1 1/2 to 2 in high @ 100, & @ 400 I'm around 14in low, this is with a 55gr sp I haven't been shooting over 400 because it's just a guessing game to figure out how far to hold over a target, with all that being said I should keep it zeroed @ 300 if I'm understanding what you're saying correctly

if uyour regularly shooting at 300 and further 250 is a good zero , and will allow you to stay within your adjustment zone out to about 600 depending on the round

a zero at 100 runs out of adjustment about 400 ( depending on the scope ) on 22-250

but a zero at 250 has some good references ( exactly 2" high at 100 10" low at 400 )

practice is the best solution , put some dowen range and adjust

you'll get used to it real soon with the practical application ( and a printed out work sheet from the ballistic calc to follow as a guide )

good luck

I understand the wind drift chart, but I do have a question about it, does it double exactly if the wind is double what you have ? For example, according to the chart there is 20 in of drift @ 500yds with 10mph wind, if the wind was 20mph would there be 40in of drift @ 500yds ? I'm just trying to understand if I can use this chart as a base & use mathematics to figure out my drift depending on wind speed & distance

leave it at home and borrow one here , save you a heck of a lot of money and if you have a US permit we can get you a temp permit for club hunts ( takes about 3 mins to lodge )

way cheaper and easier and no 30 day wait for your rifle ..
