Default Will It Hurt?

I made a new friend today, his name is Smith. He followed me home from the gunshow today. Nice fella but I gotta tell ya he has quite the appetite. Likes eating these 440 grain pills at $1.40 a pop. Any suggestions on a good single stage press.

The pill on the bottom right is a 230 grain .45 ACP, the pill on the left is the 440 grain .500 S&W

Golly, I'm glad I didn't get to go today. You would have probably conned me into buying that behemoth. Is that going to be your daily carry gun? If so, you're going to walk with a limp like Festus.

I wish I had one.

I bought one a few weeks ago, and it is a big ol' pussycat. Between the gun weight and the comp, it kicks much less than my 629. I'm going to reload to beat the shell cost, but you will love shooting that baby. It's a tame beast, but still a beast.

JC
You'll LOVE shootin that puppy in the lighter loads. The 440's hurt after a box or so (did to me). But, all in all, I'd have to say my 629 in 3" w/300 grainers hurts lots more after 50 rds than the big guy.
Where do you get ammo for $1.40 a rd. Out East here I paid $3.00 a rd until I got my dies.

I suspect it may be like the John Couger Mellancamp song, " Hurts so Good" I believe that I am officially jealous. One never knows when one may be called to defend himself against a rabid buffalo.
