Whitewater police are investigating an assault on Sean Kedzie, 22, the son of state Sen. Neal Kedzie, officials said Tuesday.

Police aren't releasing any details, but Sen. Kedzie said his son was attacked outside his home in Whitewater late last week after confronting someone for taking a yard sign supporting Republican candidates Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan.

Kedzie, R-Elkhorn, said that early Friday morning his son was woken up by noises outside his house and noticed someone taking the sign.

"He yelled to the person that they were taking something not theirs and to return it immediately," the senator said in a statement. "The individual returned the sign, however, a second person confronted and attacked Sean without warning."

The senator said his son was wrestled to the ground by both men, held down in a chokehold, and repeatedly hit on the face and head. He added that a neighbor called the police and Sean Kedzie was taken by ambulance to Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released the same day.

"As parents, we are shaken by this event and very troubled it was apparently initiated and motivated for political reasons," Kedzie said.

Mike Tate, chairman of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, said, "This kind of illegal behavior is completely unacceptable. It is our sincere hope that the perpetrators of this assault are quickly identified, found, and charged."

As long as these guys keep their mouth shut, Mike Tate and his band of Union Thugs will have no worries. Hope they paid them well.

Why do I think these guys are not likely to be Caucasians or Christians and unlikely to have a full time job. I'm making a lot of guesses here but it seems to be a trend.

If Romney wins (I pray he does) I can see the civil unrest now in every blue state. The NG will be very busy on riot duty, Except Ill-the chicago police seem to be ruthless enough to "control" any crowd.
