Default LAMBS-BLOOD-PASSOVER-EXODUS

LAMB OF GOD
I heard a study not to long ago about Passover and the exodus from Egypt.and this year the example really caused some reflection on my part.I had read this account of Moses telling the children of Israel about how they were to prepare for this event and all the instructions.
I heard the teacher telling of each family, how they were to bring the lamb or goat into their home for 4 days and then it was to be slaughtered .I don't know how many of you have ever held or been close to a young lamb or goat and held it or had it lick you or just look into your eyes.It can be a very tender ,emotional, loving, trusting moment. If you add children to the mix it's even more emotional.I've been a sheep producer and dairy goat farmer for many yrs and these little creatures can soften the most hardened heart.... So ,imagine your part of Israel and have brought this lamb into your home for 4 days and you have 4 kids and your having to explain to them about how your going to kill this animal in 4 days and not to pet it or get to attached to it as you feed and water and clean up after this little creature and oh yeah , no naming it either kids....Your a tough Father and the family tries to understand and then that evening comes and the kids are all sullen up and possibly crying and you have to kill this young lamb, this small woolly lamb that has done nothing but love you and trusted you to feed and care for it.They may have had to hand feed this lamb or in any case this lamb would probably have weighed less than 60#.I'm sure there were men that were not able to do this and as such neighbors and family would have to been called upon.
I don't know how many of you have ever killed/slaughtered an animal.I have and there is no way that you can get away from the blood getting on you.BLOOD, was pretty important in this event wasn't it?The Father , brother, neighbor someone had to cut that lambs throat and catch the blood in order for that family to escape what was about to happen at midnight. That lamb had to be skinned and then eaten by the family. It was bad enough that after the family had brought this cute little wool ball in and cared for it and now after the slaughter they were cooking it and eating it.Those of us with children can imagine the trauma some of these kids were dealing with..I wasn't quite sure where all of this was leading when I started writing.I guess I'm just asking the question to all that claim to be "saved by the blood"do we rally know what that means?Do we really have a relationship with the Lamb and the one who sent him?Would you have that same relationship if you had to actually see the lamb killed,,?
1 Peter 1:19
but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
Do we really have a relationship with " The Lamb of God"
.John 1:36
And looking at Jesus as He walked, he said, “Behold the Lamb of God!”

Exodus 12

The Passover Instituted12 Now the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, 2 “This month shall be your beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you. 3 Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying: ‘On the tenth of this month every man shall take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household. 4 And if the household is too small for the lamb, let him and his neighbor next to his house take it according to the number of the persons; according to each man’s need you shall make your count for the lamb. 5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats. 6 Now you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month. Then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at twilight. 7 And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses where they eat it. 8 Then they shall eat the flesh on that night; roasted in fire, with unleavened bread and with bitter herbs they shall eat it. 9 Do not eat it raw, nor boiled at all with water, but roasted in fire—its head with its legs and its entrails. 10 You shall let none of it remain until morning, and what remains of it until morning you shall burn with fire. 11 And thus you shall eat it: with a belt on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. So you shall eat it in haste. It is the Lord’s Passover.
12 ‘For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord. 13 Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.
14 ‘So this day shall be to you a memorial; and you shall keep it as a feast to the Lord throughout your generations. You shall keep it as a feast by an everlasting ordinance. 15 Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. On the first day you shall remove leaven from your houses. For whoever eats leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that person shall be cut off from Israel. 16 On the first day there shall be a holy convocation, and on the seventh day there shall be a holy convocation for you. No manner of work shall be done on them; but that which everyone must eat—that only may be prepared by you. 17 So you shall observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread, for on this same day I will have brought your armies out of the land of Egypt. Therefore you shall observe this day throughout your generations as an everlasting ordinance. 18 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at evening, you shall eat unleavened bread, until the twenty-first day of the month at evening. 19 For seven days no leaven shall be found in your houses, since whoever eats what is leavened, that same person shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he is a stranger or a native of the land. 20 You shall eat nothing leavened; in all your dwellings you shall eat unleavened bread.’”
21 Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel and said to them, “Pick out and take lambs for yourselves according to your families, and kill the Passover lamb. 22 And you shall take a bunch of hyssop, dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin. And none of you shall go out of the door of his house until morning. 23 For the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you. 24 And you shall observe this thing as an ordinance for you and your sons forever. 25 It will come to pass when you come to the land which the Lord will give you, just as He promised, that you shall keep this service. 26 And it shall be, when your children say to you, ‘What do you mean by this service?’ 27 that you shall say, ‘It is the Passover sacrifice of the Lord, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt when He struck the Egyptians and delivered our households.’” So the people bowed their heads and worshiped. 28 Then the children of Israel went away and did so; just as the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did.
Revelation 5:12
saying with a loud voice: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!”
Revelation 12:11
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
Revelation 19:7
Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.”

The first Exodus has been fulfilled, how many are waiting and prepared for the second one? This second will make the memory of the first pale by comparison.

There's a lot more to consider here as this only scratches the surface of what few consider when talking about redemption and salvation and sacrifices, covenants etc.
We haven't even touched on what I feel was one of the most important items of Passover and that was the "first born".Do we truly understand the Passover and then The Feast of Unleavened Bread

Skyking, this is one of the reasons that I have chosen TFF as my primary forum. Other forums ban this talk. TFF allows it.

My relationship with the Lamb of God is exactly as you described. I appreciated reading it.

Thank you TFF for allowing us to have the ability to exercise our Christian values and for helping us uphold our 2nd Ammendment rights.

thanks for reading Jim,just expressing my feelings about the lateness of the hour and it's not all about the fluff and glitter the church wants to paint for the "sheep" death, blood, promises, covenants are all serious business and when we step off that ledge we're expected to do our part..

Maybe a new record here, less than 20 posts and you have tried to piss off, or put down someone in nearly half of your posts,

If you don't want to participate in religious discussion/philosophy, perhaps you should stay in the other areas if the forums,

Yes things are pretty free speech and say what you want here, but there are parts of the forum specifically set up so you can say/type things that have not been filtered by your brain,
