Default What is this?

Looking at some ammo for my new 1911 and found a case of 1000 45 ACP TCJ.
What is Truncated Cone ammo used for? Ammo is from Atlanta Arms & Ammo Inc. Are they a reliable mfg?

Thanks

TC is usually used for range/plinking ammo. I would not want to get hit by one.
Don't know anything about the dealer.
I also use quite a lot in my Springfield XDm 40 S&W.

I load some of my 9mm with 124 grain TC bullets that I cast myself. They shoots very nice.

I also don't know anything about the dealer.

Thanks for the info. It would appear that Truncated is a target round. I found the Manufacturer's web site and it would appear that steel shooters use their products.

Thanks

Lightbulb Re: What is this?

From my reading and some what imperfect memory, I think this was a bullet type and shape favored by Jeff Cooper. It transfers energy much better than the round nose type. In other words it hits harder. It will feed in most autos without any ramp work necessary.
I cast this shape of slug for my 45's and 9mm's and really like them.
