VICTORY: You Defeated Amnesty, Cloture Failed

CONGRATULATIONS! You did it!

The Senate just voted 45 to 50 against invoking cloture on S. 1348. Senator Reid has pulled the bill from the floor for now.

You all have done an outstanding job this week and throughout today. You never gave up!

We will be coming to you with the final roll call tally, and a detailed analysis of who voted how and what is next to come, but I wanted to get this to you as soon as possible.

It wouldn't surprise me to see some kind of underhanded tactics to be used at this point to get it passed. It wouldn't be the first time.

I fear you are correct, Pick. They'll try again, you can bet on it, and I think they will ultimately succeed. The current government's approach to problem solving is simply to pass a law making the illegal legal, and go on their way, instead of addressing the real issues, illegal immigration and the invasion of American soil by a foreign power!
