So I went out back to the shed to get the weed eater, I opened the barn type door and a rat snake dropped onto my head, I let out a nice loud Aggggghhhhhh and jumped back so I could see what type of snake it was, seeing it was a black rat snake I calmed down, then my 4 legged K9 equalizer got ahold of the snake and literally shook the stuffing outta him......he trotted around the yard with the snake hanging limp and dead from his mouth for a few minutes, I put the snake in the ditch so the snapping turtles could eat him....needless to say, my encounter woke me up in a hurry.....

That can be REALLY p-ping scary. I was crossing a fence once when a King snake whipped into a coil...around my ankle. I was sstanding on his tail, so I couldn't see if he had rattles and he couldn't get away. My .22 was leaned against the fence two posts down, which probably saved me a hole in my foot.

Good lord....
I've had some encounters, some a little too close and untimely, but never had one fall on me. Wonder if this will affect your dreams tonight. Crpdeth

The scariest encounter i've had that was similar to yours was when i ran head first into a black bear. It was pitch black so we didn't see each other. Funny thing was, he was more scared of me because we both took off in opposite directions (found out later when i finally got back to my camp site and my parents were all excited by the two young black bears that went sprinting across the campground full tilt
