Other guns looked like they were straight out of a Western movie, with long barrels and corroded metal. One had a colonial-era look to it.

That just makes me sick!

a $1 bullet would have gotten hundreds of pounds of healthy wild meat that is free from hormones and the rest of the trash that is fed to commercial livestock.

It amazes me how stupid some people can be.

At least we don't have to worry about a horde of liberals taking all the hunting resources when the economy collapses.

This is natural selection at work..

The real criminals are keeping their guns to steal from the folks who got free groceries and no longer have a gun to protect their grub.

I guess it's all about priorities.
Got a gun that will never shoot and has no value to you?
Food sounds like a fair trade.

My question is, who funded this?

My tax dollars?
Local government?

I hope they don't expect me to protect them when it all goes down.

Why is it I've never seen on of these "Gun buyback" scams pulled around here?

Fountain Inn, SC about 60 miles from you, did one last year or maybe the first part of this year (I don't recall). I wish I had known in advance. There are several I could have taken for relatives with worn-out junk they keep stowed away.

Wow, I didn't know they pulled those scams here in the SouthBut then, the souther part of this country has been invaded with liberals for decades Was it one of those "no questions asked" deals? If so, I'll buy a throwaway from some doper for $50 and turn it in for a profit

Orlando gave out sneakers for guns last year.

Can you imagine some genius trading off a nice 1911 or maybe a Ruger Blackhawk for a pair of sneakers?

Yep, it was a 'no questions asked' trade-in for Target gift cards. I think the card for all guns turned in was $50 each. It wasn't as lucrative as some of the other places around the country. There are two people I know in particular who could have pawned off some true junk for $50 and made a lot more than the scrap metal value. The guns they own are worn out big time.

Guns for sneakers?! I don't know which is worse, the mental midgets that think up that kind of BS, or the mental midgets that fall for it

A $50 gift card? That's a waste of time unless you had a gun that was totally useless. If someone has worn out a gun to the point where that's a profit, then they've been doing an awful lot of shooting

My step-dad has a 12 gauge break action with an action loser than a freshly graveled country road that could have gone to the trade. It's actually dangerous to shoot in its condition.

My father-in-law has an old pump 12 gauge that he has never gotten to dimple a primer and it's looser than uncle sam's pockets as well. That could have gotten some money in the Target gift card trade.

How about a 'guns for crack' buy-back program.
