took my new rifle (savage 110 .243 left hand bolt action) to the range today.

After getting it sited at 100 yrds I broke out some hand loads and moved in to 50 yrds(good for deer in these parts)

Here are my groupings and info on the loads. Keep in mind I haven't been shooting in quite some time (4-5 yrs) so the accuracy or lack there of is mostly the shooter not the loads

using IMR4831 And Hornady 100g SPS - 5 shot groups

Load 1
41.2G
.616

Load 2
42.2g
1.37

Load 3
43g
1.38

Load 4
43.5g
2.16 (1 shot way out to throw off rest of group)

Load 5
44g
1.17

Like I say these aren't near where I want to be but, for being out of practice and with a new rifle not to bad.

That is not bad at all with a new rifle working on new loads. Isn"t fun working up loads for a new piece. It will get you into shooting with a new desire. Boon
