A kindergarten class was given a homework assignment to find out about something exciting and relate it to the class the next day. When it came time to present what they'd found, the first little boy walked up to the front of the class and made a small dot on the blackboard. Puzzled, the teacher asked him what it was.

"It's a period." said the little boy.

"What's so exciting about a period?" she asked.

"Damned if I know," said the boy, "but this morning my sister was missing one and my mom fainted, my dad had a heart attack, and the man next door shot himself!"
