Send Joe Wilson some kind of campaign contribution!

It takes money to win, as Hillary found out the hard way.

I didn't, but let the Conservative support group know that behavior such as Joe Wilson's is NOT what the country needs to see. It needs to see a clear alternative to the current liberal agenda.

I don't want to hear people say that Republican conservativisim is fronted by members of Congress that can't propose meaningful ideas but simply "shout out" when confronted by views they don't agree with. The Halls of Congress deserve more respect than that.

What the country needs is representatives from any party with the backbone to call out the lies of people in power.
That is why we send them to Washington.
That is why I support Joe Wilson.

When the President lies to me he deserves no respect.

Like Artabr, I also disagree with you on this. Our elected officals work for us, and in that reguard, they need to stand up, and call a liar, a liar. A thief, a thief, and a socialist, a socialist. They need to stop this kind of crap where ever they find it, and call it out, not wait till it becomes law, and we the people have to pay the price for it! If you were buying a car, and it was a lemon, wouldn't you want someone to tell you about it "before" you bought it?

21. Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.

Let me try to clarify my comments a little bit. I have no problem with Joe Wilson's views or belief that Obama is lying. Whether he is or is not is really not the issue, its how its brought up for the people of this country to see. True, our elected officials are supposed to work for us and it is their duty to protect our interests. Too many forget that once the get to Washington. What I was trying to say is long after Obama and Wilson are gone, Congress will still be there and the traditions and decorum need to be honored and perpetuated. The booing of Bush by the Dems is another case of similar poor behavior.

The average American is probably not far right or far left. Their impressions of the Democrat and Republican parties are strongly influenced by just the kind of "sound bite" that Joe Wilson's outburst showed. Not a whole lot different than Dean's "Yeehaw". I was just trying to make the point that these representatives have more responsibilty to the country and its people than they say that they acknowledge. There is a time and place for everything and I for one want to hear good ideas from both sides in the forums best suited for just that.

Did all of you received this letter after signing:

Quote:
Fellow Conservative,

Thank you for signing our "Resolution of Support of Congressman Joe Wilson." Your signed resolution will be forwarded along with thousands of others to every member of United States Congress demonstrating the overwhelming support that Joe Wilson has from the American people.

We want to have millions of Americans sign this "Resolution on Support of Congressman Joe Wilson," so please forward this link to as many of your friends as possible.

If you haven't done so already, please also consider making a generous contribution to Congressman Joe Wilson and The House Conservatives Fund. Both can be done right here.

Your gift to Joe Wilson will be bundled with donations from across the country and I will personally present them to Congressman Wilson. And your donation to House Conservatives Fund will ensure that we elect and retain strong Conservatives in Congress in the crucial upcoming 2010 election year.

For America!

Patrick McHenry
United States Congressman
Chairman, House Conservatives Fund

I agree that the Halls of Congress deserve more respect but being that Obama was using the venue as a Democratic pep rally I do not feel that the outburst was uncalled for. He spent his time on the floor pushing a partisan agenda and applause came from liberal element of the chamber. If the president so wishes to use the venue in such a way and it is acceptable to applaud the president then it should also be acceptable to show discord with the president.

There was such a time in the history of Congress that applause was unacceptable. The accepted behavior was to sit quietly during a presidential address and to show no partisan support or non-support during the event.

Done. Although maybe not the right place for the criticism by Rep Wilson, it spur debate on the subject of illegals getting free health care, which by the way they get now.

I am stunned at how quickly the socialist agenda has been unveiled by this administration. It is imperative that all of those who truly oppose this promised "change", be vocal to your elected officials, become more educated on the issues, and activley participate in the upcoming election cycle next year. Every House member is up for re-election as are 1/3 of the Senate. We can make a difference this time.

As much as I agree with free speech, and I'm not saying Rep. Wilson doesn't have the right to his or his constituents' opinions(or his own), I'm of the mind that we are losing respect for the office(s) these folks hold. I agree that Clinton should have been "nailed" (don't get too excited) about his "affair" with Lewiniski, but attacking the man is one thing, attacking the man while in the highest, most powerful leader of the free world is another. When it comes right down to it, it doesn't make any difference what party is in power, the other is going to dig up as much dirt as possible and let it play out in the public. We have lessened the "office" of many leadership "places" in this country and now, I believe, that because of our allowing bad behavior in those offices this will open Pandora's box and the preverbial can of worms that anything can be attacked when at one time "it" (whatever "it" is) deserved great respect. If Rep. Wilson wanted to say "you lie" in public, there are plenty of other places to say it and publicly so. So do so when at the very least these houses on Congress are supposed to try and react with at least some civility. I have felt this way even since Clinton's indiscretion, which was completely stupid on his part; however, to publicly offend the Presidency, I just don't think it's right. Nail the bas-----s once out of office. Unless we want our representatives just going along and starting to yell each other and acting completely ignorant, well, we certainly will get a whole lot less done in Congress than there already is. I don't stand for improper behavior from people we expect to do a job for us as a civilized society. Sorry if this doesn't follow along the party lines, but. . . It's like the Europeans say: "In America, you don't believe your leaders are corrupt, in Europe, we know they are."

Here's my point. I don't have respect for 90% of the idiots that are in office in DC now and slowly moving upward in percentage. Most of them are there on an ego trip or for personal gain. They could care less what the people they are supposed to represent want. When is the last time you saw a poor politician in DC? Yes, I will support Rep. Wilson. He seems to be the only one who has the guts to say what a lot of us are thinking. If they want a race war like some of the clowns on TV say, then bring it on before I'm to old to participate. By the way, jesse and al, my ancestors never owned any slaves.
