Cutter, I want to add my "thank you!" to yours.
There was a lot of controversy over allowing this forum to exist, because history shows that religious discussions almost ALWAYS end up in fights, and TFF is one of those rare places where fights are simply not allowed. My deep appreciation is extended to all those that have posted here, all the deep questions asked, all the insight given, and virtually all done in the spirit with which this forum was started; intelligent people CAN discuss religious beliefs without flame wars! THANK YOU, GUYS!!

I too would like to thank all the members here and the staff.
I don't particularly care to get involved in religious discussions, as they usually devolve into bitterness among the members. I don't put my hat on any religions rack. My beliefs lie between me and my God. Yet I'm always open to read any other opinions. TFF allows me to do that. I don't have all the answers, and I don't think anyone does. Im my humble opinion, I find that refreshing. No one here has ever dissed me for what I believe. No one here has ever judged me any less (that I'm aware of). If they have, it's not posted and kept behind the scenes. It's the civility of the members we have. I've seen one thread locked here, and I believe it was justified. There are many religions out there, and few of us have explored any but our own. To me, the forum is ripe for educating ourselves in what others believe. And I for one love to expand my spirituality.

I agree. I belong to other weapon forums where anything that's not PC isn't allowed. I don't know if I'll get involved or not, but it's nice to have the option.

i agree and i also enjoy the discussion of all things religious as well...
i just hope the mods and other forum members are realistic and understand that religious discussion can lead to disagreement (and often do) and we may not always hold hands in a circle and sing Kumbaya at the end of the thread... but so long as we are respectful in our tone and line of reasoning it is all good... discussion of religion often results in comparison and contrast of different faiths and what they believe on similar topics, and it is good and healthy to do this this... so long as we are discussing facts, supporting our statements with references, and keeping the arguments on the points and not the person making them i think it will be really good... just my opinion thanks. |
