Default FN stands for freakin nasty

I had no idea when I bought my FN .40 that I was getting the best gun company on the planet.

M16, SCAR, F2000, Uzi, Five-Seven, P90, just to name a few of their more famous guns.
All with specialized slides and hammer striker things that are a self lubing material, some sort of floating mechanisms that I wasn't sure what my instructor was talking about, but it sure sounded useful.

I love my gun, and though I'm sure yall have your own opinions, I love FN too.

Coulda sworn M16 was Stoner. Colt, if you like. Not FN.

Uzi is Israeli, and has nothing to do with Fabrique National d'Armes d'Guerre of Belgium.

FN made a good portion of the military's M4's, most of mine so far were FN's; a couple colts in there. Also the M240b's and M249's

I'm not a huge fan of the SCAR although it's gotten much better but in general I regard FN highly as quality and good design.

Don't forget the FAL, one of my favorites. Also love the 5.7mm pistols

Have you fired the piece yet? What is so special about the piece that causes such intimacy? Pictures and discussion.

FN might very well make 'em. They are made, under license, all over the world. But the statement, "just to name a few of their more famous guns" implies that they came up with them.

Norinco sells 87 and 97 Winchesters. But they are not Norinco's famous guns, they are Winchester's famouns guns, or more precisely, John Browning's famous guns.

Uberti makes Single Action Armys, and 1873 Winchesters. But there are "Colt's famous gun" and "Winchester's famous gun", not Uberti's.

The Uzi is Uziel Gal's famous gun. The M16 is Eugene Stoner's famous gun.

If FN started making AK47s, it would still be "Mikhail Kalashnikov's famous gun", not FN's.

Just setting the record straight.

Oh I see. Thought for a second I had stumbled onto one of those 'don't believe everything you see on the internet' scenarios.

If you like it so much, why are you calling it nasty?

Lol, in modern slang vocab, nasty can mean so thoroughly awesome and extreme, it is given positive meaning.

I had an UZI, mine said Made in Israel.
I would love to try a few FN products, and oddly enough, one I'd really like to try is of course the hard one to find - a semi-auto FNC. Seems all the FNCs in the US got married up to the FN autosears that were registered and darn near all of them are NFA now, of what I've found.
Held the FS-2000, would like to try one. PS-90, maybe, just for the novelty.
FN has a good record, and getting a contract with John Browning was one of the best things that ever happened to them.

Browning was the Einstien (speaking of einstien, probably mispelled his name...) of all time and will remain so IMO. I feel like a traitor for putting my 1911 in the safe and running my glock lately...

All of our M16A2's when I was in the National Guard were FN made in SC.
