I recently bought a Stevens model 200 SA in 7 mm-08. The serial # is G707792. Can anyone tell me when it was made? It has a center feed magazine.

A couple of things. Since the gun is a 7MM-08, I doubt it's original. More like a rebarrel. There are no published serial number-year made tables for Stevens guns that I am aware of. However there is a source you can check for the information you are seeking. You can contact:
Older Stevens Historical Research Mr. John Callahan 53 Old Quarry Road Westfield,MA 01085 Be advised that there is a $15.00 research fee per gun. If you write be sure to give them all possible information. |

The barrel appears to be a Stevens. 7 mm-08 is one of the calibers listed in the Savage/Stevens web advertisement in which the M200 is available. The rifle is a "center feed magazine" type with a 4.4" short action magazine screw hole spacing, so it is of a recent manufacture date.
